Doing what comes naturally is the phrase that comes to mind when talking about Ilze du Preez, owner of The Showroom.  Ilze’s entrepreneurial spirit has led her to many endeavors in the past but her current passion of  bringing good art to people, started as a student hobby.  At a tender 19 years of age, Ilze sold no less than 8 paintings at her first exhibition.

After the bug bit, she worked with many talented artists as well as a few well known art galleries where experience was added to passion to make a winning combination! 

Family life is an important theme in Ilze and her husband Karel’s life.  After the birth of their first boy, Ilze started her own framing business which allowed her to be involved with two things that she loves – art and family! This framing concern was sold but the new owner still works hand-in-hand with the Showroom to make sure that beautiful art is framed in quality frames.

Now, 13 years later, Ilze is still committed to bringing beauty to ordinary people as well as art investors, corporates etc. Pursuing dealing in art as a career seemed to have found and followed this business woman rather than it being a conscious choice!

Ilze is actively involved with artists like Liesel Brune, Salomi Prinsloo, Tanya Jansen, Stefan de Beer and Maria to introduce and promote their work to galleries nationally. Galleries can also buy directly from her at wholesale prices.
