Cornelius Bosch was born in 1956 and studied at Tshwane University of Technology. He worked as a freelance graphic artist for a few years and decided to make painting his career, which he has been doing for the past 17 years. As a true South African artist, Cornelius Bosch drew his inspiration from his country and its history. Bosch’s work is indeed varied, vibrantly dramatic bowls of flowers, classical landscapes and abstract – contemporary artwork entitled “Industrial Cathedral’s, the Glass Boat and Confrontation” are just some of the subjects which speaks unanimously about this artist’s talent. Bosch embraces warmth and texture and his play with multiple layers of translucent color and the effect of light is highly individual.
Bosch was prolific but also highly disciplined. He has established himself as a serious artist and his work has stood the test of time; every other type of recognition comes second. It is this perseverance and dedication that has made Bosch paintings a highly desirable object for collectors and investors alike.
Cornelius Bosch sadly passed away in March 2011 at the young age of 55.
